Description
Chicory is a common, bitter‐tasting herb with valuable medicinal qualities. It is good for the liver and blood sugar and is high in minerals. When roasted, it has a coffee‐like taste, and goes well in earthy teas and marinades for the BBQ. New Orleans coffees are traditionally mixed with a little roasted chicory for a gourmet flavor.
