Hot Hungarian paprika is simply the Hungarian variety of paprika, and is considered to be superior to the rest! Compared to the US, people in Hungary use paprika as a major flavor additive rather than just a zing of color on top of deviled eggs (however, why not do both?). It is most commonly found in classic dishes like goulash, a stew composed of primarily red meat and paprikash. Hungarian paprika is actually pretty sweet rather than smoky.
